Arts Festival & Spring Cookout ~ Montrose is transformed into an art gallery with beautiful displays of student artwork throughout the building. Enjoy the art, purchase a cookout dinner, and buy a book from the Spring Book Fair on this special evening at Montrose.
Festival Of The Arts ~ an annual arts festival which includes artists, crafters and other vendors who sell their wares, as well as demonstrations and hands-on activities for all ages. This annual event takes place on the first Saturday in December, at Montrose Elementary School.
Black History Month ~ PTO supports the teaching staff by organizing Black History Month games and activities for classroom use during the month of February.
Election Day Bake Sale ~ Parents send in individually wrapped baked goods. The baked goods are sold to voters during election hours. Each student is given an opportunity to purchase a snack, at some point during the day, as well.
Montrose Night At Bexley Pizza Plus ~ The third Tuesday of every month is Montrose Night at Bexley Pizza Plus. Remember to tell them that you are a Montrose family, when you place your order, and the Montrose PTO will receive 15% of your purchase price as a donation.
4th of July Float ~ Help to plan, build and ride the Montrose float in the Bexley 4th of July parade.
Fun Run ~ This annual event is held in honor of Cheri Gerhold, former physical education teacher at Montrose. The students run a course, of various lengths based upon grade, through our South Bexley community.
Fun For All ~ This event has games for kids of all ages. There is also food, face painting, prizes, and much more. A highlight of this event is a raffle held at the end of the afternoon.
Halloween Parade & Parties ~ Students (and some teachers) change into costumes after lunch and parade around the block. This is a wonderful chance for parents to snap some photos. The parties follow, inside the individual classrooms.
Special Persons Day ~ Each child may invite their grandparents, or any other significant person, to their classroom. The special person gets to see what student has been learning throughout the school year, meet the teacher and get a tour of the school from their student.
Valentine’s Day Parties ~ Each class has a Valentine’s Day party in the afternoon to celebrate.
Read A Thon ~ Our biggest and ONLY fundraiser of the year. This event helps encourage early literacy, promotes active reading, and funds all of the extras we are able to provide to our Montrose Community.
Family Dance ~ Held each January and DJ’d by our very own Phys Ed Teacher, DJ Dr Strait, this event is open to all and free to attend. Adult supervision required.
